Flightradar24 Free shows live airplane traffic from different parts around the world. The technique to receive flight information from aircraft is called ADS-B. That means the Flightradar24 Free can only show information about aircraft equipped with ADS-B ................
transponders. Today about 60% of the passenger aircraft and only a small amount of military and private aircraft have an ADS-B transponder. Flightradar24 has a network of about 200 ADS-B receivers around the world that receives the information from aircraft with ADS-B and sends this information to a server, and then displays this information on a map in Flightradar24 Free app. Only aircraft within the coverage area of the 200 receivers are visible (mostly Europe). See Flightradar24.com to get more information about coverage and how the receivers works. This Free version of Flightradar24 shows live air traffic, but with limited flight info (callsign). To get full airplane and flight information we recommend Flightradar24 Pro. If you are an owner of a virtual radar (SBS-1 or AirNav) you can connect your receiver to Flightradar24 and Flightradar24.com to increase the coverage in your area.
